About the Role

Mini Wonder is looking for an experienced, energetic Store Manager to lead our kids shop and own the day-to-day business of the store. This person will be responsible for building a strong team, creating an exceptional customer experience, driving sales, maintaining a high visual standard and ensuring the store runs smoothly from open to close.

We’re looking for a caring, accountable leader who operates with an ownership mindset. You love developing people, know how to turn business goals into clear priorities for a team and are equally comfortable coaching on the floor, reviewing results, merchandising a new delivery or jumping in wherever the store needs you.

Mini Wonder should feel fun, welcoming and distinctly ours every day. The Store Manager plays a major role in making that happen, for our customers, our team and the broader Alice & Wonder brand.

What You’ll Do

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach and develop the Mini Wonder retail team with a strong focus on customer experience, sales performance and accountability
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, train and retain a high-performing store team.
  • Create clear expectations, provide consistent feedback and address performance or employee concerns thoughtfully and promptly.
  • Build a positive, collaborative store culture where team members feel connected to the brand and understand how their work contributes to the business.
  • Own store scheduling and staffing needs, ensuring appropriate coverage while managing payroll responsibly. 

Sales & Customer Experience

  • Drive daily, weekly and monthly sales results and rally the team around company goals.
  • Create a warm, helpful and memorable customer experience that reflects Mini Wonder.
  • Maintain strong product knowledge across the team and ensure associates can confidently speak to new arrivals, in-house collections and seasonal stories.
  • Build relationships with customers and use feedback from the sales floor to identify opportunities for the business.
  • Review store performance and communicate meaningful trends, wins and opportunities to the broader retail leadership team.

Store Operationn

  • Own the day-to-day operations of the store, including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, inventory control, replenishment, transfers, markdowns and general housekeeping.
  • Maintain a highly organized back-of-house and ensure product is replenished quickly and accurately.
  • Ensure all company policies, procedures and operational standards are consistently followed.
  • Proactively identify store needs, operational issues and opportunities for improvement rather than waiting for direction.
  • Partner with the broader retail, warehouse and home office teams to keep information and product moving smoothly. 

Visual Merchandising & Brand

  • Maintain a high visual standard throughout the store and ensure Mini Wonder always feels fresh, thoughtful and on-brand.
  • Lead merchandising changes for new product, seasonal moments and launches.
  • Partner with the creative and retail teams on signage, displays and in-store brand moments.
  • Support and execute store events, launches and community activations. 

What We’re Looking For

  • 3–5 years of retail leadership experience, ideally as a Store Manager or strong Assistant Store Manager
  • Proven experience hiring, coaching and developing retail teams.
  • Strong understanding of retail operations, merchandising, inventory and sales performance.
  • A customer-first mindset and the ability to model exceptional service for the team.
  • Strong business accountability, follow-through and problem-solving skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized, adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Ability to give and receive feedback, navigate challenging conversations and maintain productive relationships.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings and one weekend day. The Store Manager is guaranteed two days off each week but must be able to flex based on business needs, events and team coverage.
  • Ability to bend, reach and move product and lift/carry up to 40 pounds.
